Who are we?

Originating around DEF CON 22, DCZia is a group organized around the concepts of teaching, learning, and creating badges & other electronic hardware. Most of us have loose ties to New Mexico, but now we live all over the US. Proud holders of the DC DarkNet DEF CON 25 Black Badge!

2023 - DCZia Electric Sampler
This year we wanted to make something that would function as more than just a badge, and have use after DefCon. Thus the "Electric Sampler" was born, a eurorack format badge that has a variety of fun light modes, but also is a sequencer, sampler, midi controler, and more!
2022 - DCZia Electronics - 30 in One Badge
A throwback to the elctronic kits that taught many of us how circuits and componets can create awesome things

A build it at home badge for the first "Canceled" Defcon
2019 - Laser Theramin Synth Badge
A theramin inspired synth badge that uses laser rangefinders to make sound
2018 - KeyGrid Badge
Dczia got into mechanical keyboards, and it inspired a badge
2017 - Key Badge
An early attempt at PCB development; Designed as a shield to plug into an Arduino
